Getting Drained from Daily Business? Hit The Beach and Recharge

Beach FrontIf you’re anything like us, we like to take time away from business and finance and just let loose. And one of the best ways we’ve found to get away from the grind of money is to literally get away. Going to the beach is so relaxing and recharging, it’s a must-do for anyone working in finance or the business world.

Hitting the beach on a weekend is great, but if you have any vacation or free time, then we suggest going to a beach location for a week. Trust us, it is one of the most productive things you can do if you’re a type-a business/finance person who works on wall street.

The need to get away and clear your mind is absolutely essential to rock-solid productivity. You can’t constantly be go, go, go. You should try and make some time to get away as soon as you’re feeling even a little bit of burnout.

The Dangers of Work Burnout

If you burn out at work, you won’t be useful to anyone. You won’t even want to do anything. Anyone who’s experienced burnout knows it’s not a good position to be in.

Some of the symptoms you’ll see:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Procrastination
  • Apathy
  • Loss of Drive/Emotion/Passion

It’s very costly to burn out in terms of what you could be doing to make more money or move your business forward.

That’s why you should always try your best to take some time for yourself. So you can recharge and get back at the game full speed ahead.

Ideas to Avoid Burnout at Work

There are a lot of things you can do to combat burnout. We’ve got our favorite, but in case that’s not for you, here are a few ideas that can help calm your mind and stay in the game longer.

  • Meditate
  • Go Camping
  • Go to the Beach
  • Spend Recreational Time With Loved Ones
  • Go to a Non-Work Event (like sports, music or theatre)

Our Favorite: Going to the Beach

The Beach

We try to get out to the beach whenever we can in my house. There’s nothing quite like sitting on warm, clean sand with nothing but blue in front of you.

The sounds of waves crashing and the tide coming in and out is nothing short of pure serenity.

We also like camping, but don’t get out to do that much. We prefer to spend our days on the beach and our nights with some good whiskey at home.

We go out to the beach so much we decided to buy a beach tent (we bought one we saw at a website called campshores.

Just Do It

Regardless of your preferred way to “get away,” you should take it seriously.

It’s not wasting time and it’s definitely not useless. It’s actually one of the most important things you can do to stay fresh and sharp, so you’re always ready to kill it in whatever daily grind you choose.
